Diversity Network

Education about diversity in the workforce benefits us all.

Quote by associate in Missouri: The more diverse the group working on a problem, the better the outcome.

Objectives

The Diversity Network helps our associates appreciate the value of the diverse workforce at Bank of America and develop skills we need to build teams out of that diversity. The Diversity Network can

  • Assist associates in understanding and valuing diversity in all its forms
  • Enhance leadership, management and communication skills and provide useful information on professional development
  • Increase understanding of the needs and priorities of our diverse associate and customer base
  • Help associates develop professional contacts throughout the company

Most Diversity Networks hold meetings or events on a regular basis during non-working hours on company premises. Topics and activities focus on diversity and personal and professional development. Events have included

  • Senior executive presentations about their vision of diversity, company objectives and core values
  • Discussion of the company's objectives for marketing to ethnic minority groups and hiring people with disabilities
  • Information-sharing sessions about topics such as career networking, cultural diversity and sexual orientation
  • Exercises that explore ways to build teamwork in a diverse environment
  • Seminars on resume writing and career management
  • Career fairs to help associates learn about other areas of the company

Corporate Diversity

At Bank of America, we respect and value not only differences related to race, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation, but also diversity of viewpoint, experience, talents and ideas. We strive to empower all associates to excel on the job and reach their full potentials, and reward and recognize associates based on performance and results.
